About
Competitive racquetball for men and women 40 and older since 1971.
The National Masters Racquetball Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs competitive racquetball for men and women age 40 and older. Through charitable giving, scholarships and community support, it works to keep the sport strong for future generations.
Where it began
In 1971, ten players met in New Castle, Pennsylvania, for a round-robin event: the first national tournament for racquetball players in the 45-and-over age groups. The founding members were Ivan Bruner, Sam Caiazza, Earl Dixon, Dr. Ray DuPue, Gene Grapes, Chet Howard, Dr. Bud Muehleisen, Dr. Hal Price, Dr. Bill Sellers and Joe Zelson.
Since then the association has expanded its playoff format, welcomed 40+ athletes, and grown its membership and championship fields.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone who supports the NMRA’s goals, whether or not they compete. A three-year membership is $45.
